I have heard from an University of Pretoria researcher (Carl Sandrock) that he has implemented CAPE-OPEN Thermo 1.0 interfaces in Modelica for the purpose of supplying thermodynamic and physical properties from a 3rd party thermo server to a Modelica model. The implementation could come up as open source pending authorization from University of Pretoria's legal department. Has anybody tried the same kind of implementation?

No - but in the context of work to come I am interested.

Mind that the SciLab CAPE-OPEN Unit Operation and Thermo Import in principle allow for doing the opposite, use CAPE-OPEN thermodynamics in a Modelica environment. This is established by using SciCos models inside SciLab.
